RioMed is a privately owned software development house which operates in the healthcare industry, producing software applications for use across the healthcare sector. With a mission statement of ‘working to improve healthcare,’ the company began life as a management consultancy firm which later branched out into software development. Software development is the primary focus of RioMed Ltd.
RioMed is an international company, with headquarters in the UK and regional offices in Trinidad and Tobago and India. As well as the best software engineers in the business, the company has a strong clinical focus; all of our project managers are qualified clinicians and the board of directors have over 50 years experience within the healthcare industry between them. PRINCE2 methodologies underpin our project management principles, ITIL our customer services processes and ISO our management processes.
Intuitive innovation is the philosophy behind our software development processes; we design software made to measure.
Our mission is to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare delivery; through the provision of integrated innovative clinical solutions, which are customised to meet the requirements of the user.
We aim to provide innovative clinical solutions utilising the latest technologies to improve the planning, design, implementation, management and evaluation of health services. This vision encourages patients’ access and input into their own health records, and is fully integrated with all the clinical information and opinions of healthcare professionals.
This approach to electronic health information will drive improvements in the quality, safety and efficiency of healthcare delivery.
RioMed has been delivering quality software solutions to the NHS, Ireland and the Caribbean since 1997. Currently, we provide software services to over 150 UK sites, 60 NHS Trusts, 60% of all Irish hospitals, 50 sites in the Caribbean and sites in the Middle East. RioMed’s software has been proven to work above and beyond clinical, managerial and IT expectations whether it is deployed for an individual practitioner, multiple services within a hospital or a wider health network.
Cellma is designed for use by:
When Cellma goes live, a short period of floor-walking allows the customer to discuss any issues or difficulties associated with the software on site with RioMed project managers and trainers. Prior to this, full training for all Cellma users is provided, allowing them to experience the system’s full capabilities and ease of use before going live. The floor walking stage allows trainers to be present on the floor, available to provide direct and additional support during the go-live stage. This floor-walking stage is followed by a three month ‘hand-holding’ stage where the RioMed project manager remains in regular, weekly contact with the site to maintain support and address any issues which might arise.
Once users are competent, further training is provided to relevant members of staff to become system administrators. RioMed also operates a ‘train the trainer’ approach whereby key training personnel are identified by the trust and provided with Cellma training at regular intervals. These individuals are then responsible for the on-going training and initial training of members within their team.
