The system arrived together with a profound change in the clinic management and it has been pretty revolutionary both in terms of changing the mindset and getting updated information about the patient population.

Starting Cellma in these circumstances is probably more challenging than in countries already using some electronic data management. We moved from paper files and no registers to pure electronic management including demographic data, nurses and doctors’ assessments and prescribing. Some of the health care providers were computer illiterate in the beginning.

All this has happened within a year and has not always been easy. Main problems derive from facts outside Cellma. RioMed support has been excellent, very much hands on and continuous. The change could never have happened without Cellma and the support provided by RioMed.

We will soon get the first accurate statistics on patients and will use Cellma to get information for a research paper. This is in addition to being able to access patient info without files, which is essential in smooth management in hospitals.
