Trinidad and Tobago’s COVID-19 Vaccination Solution of Choice – Cellma

An overview of Cellma’s Vaccination Solution contributions.

What’s been done?

In March of 2021, RioMed Ltd’s Cellma software was chosen as the software to utilise the monitoring and management of key aspects of the Trinidad and Tobago COVID-19 Vaccination Management Solution. These areas included:

• Registering Patients
• Scheduling and Managing Appointments for second dose
• Monitoring the distribution and administration of vaccines
• Training of new personnel utilising software at all sites
• Compilation and Execution of Reports to reflect activities of the COVID-19 Vaccination Programme

Currently, the Cellma software has recorded the administration of 907,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine at over 208 vaccination sites. These sites are both public and private sites under the purview of the Ministry of Health of Trinidad and Tobago. The size of these vaccination sites vary to accommodate the specific need of increased vaccinations at specific locations with over 4 mass vaccination sites being deployed throughout the country.

During the height of the vaccination process, Cellma’s online appointment system was utilised to schedule patient’s appointments for the administration of the vaccine. This included a single page registration process which included text and email notifications confirming appointment details being sent to the patient/attendee and creation of an online patient profile. The process has since evolved into a walk-in system for appointments at all locations.

Over 300 persons including part time volunteers were trained in the use of Cellma including data entry clerks, inventory personnel and those assisting in the registration process.

What’s next?

Currently, Cellma’s E-vaccination certificate interface is being developed and tested as a means of providing proof of vaccination. Using Cellma’s patient database as a single source of truth, when launched the feature will enable users to download an electronic proof of vaccination.
