RioMed has expanded its services to the Chronic Disease Assistance Programme (CDAP) in Trinidad with Cellma now being used in 285 pharmacies to handle all pharmacy prescriptions, dispensing and medications management electronically. This makes this project the largest pharmacy project Cellma has been deployed in to date. CDAP provides citizens with free prescription drugs and other pharmaceutical items to combat the critical health conditions such as:
The project went live on July 6, 2015 with an estimated 750 users. There are over 285 pharmacies throughout the country that provide medications through CDAP. The primary objective of CDAP using Cellma is to reduce the burden on pharmacies and patient waiting times at public health institutions. This has been achieved by providing approximately 257 additional dispensing facilities, across the country.
The project has been implemented with a phased approach, and a second phase involving the integration with HIV and Oncology Pharmacies throughout Trinidad & Tobago. Currently the project is using the following Cellma Modules: PAS for patient registration, EPR for creation of prescriptions, Pharmacy for pharmacy dispensing. Cellma’s Finance module is also being used for financial reconciliation and will help to provide comprehensive and cost effective Patient Medication Tracking (including interactions) across all Trinidad and Tobago citizens.
RioMed will continue to work with the programme over the next few months to provide a pharmacy specific patient portal so that citizens will be able to view prescriptions and re-order medications themselves online.
Using Cellma’s pharmacy module, pharmacies part of the programme will now be able to access the following pharmacy module benefits:
