Electronic Patient Record
Cellma’s EPR module is used to capture information from patients throughout the care pathway, regardless of where the services are delivered. Embedded into Cellma are unique assessment tools, the parameters for which can be set up and defined by the user, these tools can be used to harmonise the treatment and assessment of patients across the organisation.
Using screens customised to each service’s requirements, healthcare professionals record information the point of contact, accessing standardised assessments created in Cellma. A mixture of conventional, touch screen, voice and character recognition technologies are used to facilitate real time data entry promoting speed and accuracy of data captured. Users can create customised work lists for both individuals and groups. Clinicians can create and update work lists to ensure all tasks are carried out efficiently. Alerts and reminders are used to drive clinically relevant information to healthcare professionals using pop-ups, texts and emails. Where appropriate, messages can also be triggered for patients to alert of medication reviews or investigation results outside of normal parameters. Letters and order communications are sent electronically to nurses, secretaries, labs, imaging and pharmacies.
The EPR module contains fully integrated order communications. All requests and results, including prescriptions and imaging can be handled and generated using Cellma’s EPR. Embedded in the EPR is Cellma’s automatic letter/form generator which uses data collected from patient’s clinical episodes to generate customised patient letters/forms at the click of a button for printing, editing or emailing. The format of letters/forms are defined and customised by the users of the system.
The EPR module can be linked to any external site for quick access within the application and contains links to best practice guidelines such as the British National Formulary (BNF) and the British Medical Journal (BMJ). All data entered in Cellma is clinically coded using SNOMED CT, CPT, ICD-10 or OPCS-4 codes which can be mapped to any national or local reporting or financial system in place.
Patient safety is a fundamental principle of Cellma and so all areas of the programme are auditable. Based on the policy of one patient, one record, users can ensure that all patient information is stored on the correct record for review in any location, 24/7/365. Cellma contains a system of alerts to avoid risks such as administration of conflicting drugs as well as staff reminders. The information viewed by users is determined by rule based user group membership, established by the system administrator and is compliant with all NHS and European patient data security policies.
As is the case with all Cellma modules full reporting and integration is available. All Cellma modules can be deployed as standalone systems or integrated with other Cellma modules or third party systems including PAS; E-prescribing, Laboratory and Imaging modules, the result is seamless integrated paperless care across the health organisation.
