“The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is responsible for the regulation of aviation safety in the UK, determining policy for the use of airspace, the economic regulation of Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted airports, the licensing and financial fitness of airlines and the management of the ATOL(Air Travel Organiser’s Licence) financial protection scheme for holidaymakers.”
The UK CAA has begun using Cellma’s medical system to ensure that applicants, for example, Pilots, Air Traffic Controllers have the appropriate medical certification. CAA UK has systematised and standardised their workflows and the medical certification process of their Pilots and ATCs by implementing Cellma which allows the AMEs to upload the results of their medical assessments directly into Cellma’s medical records via the portal or app.
RioMed has configured our standard modules, where required, to meet the exact requirements of the CAA and their medical certification process. The installation covered approximately 50,000 applicants and has nearly 50 CAA internal users and a further approx. 250 to 350 clinical users externally.
As with any healthcare system used within an environment, robust information security is paramount. Cellma met all the required criteria for an information sensitive authority. For more information, feel free to contact us.
