RioMed Limited began to expand its experience into different specialties and modules. In 2002, with the development of FITOS which was a fragility and fracture management software, RioMed Limited started to focus more on Osteoporosis Falls and Fractures and its linked diseases and treatment. Formis was used as an identification software for patients who had potential fragility and fractures. The software would automatically scan letters and pick out the words based on demographic details such as – age, gender and diagnosis so as to identify the risk of fracture.
In 2003, RioMed launched its software in Ireland at the University Hospital Galway with specific emphasis on the management of falls, fragility and fracture. Business soon expanded into Waterford, Sligo, Dublin, Tipperary and Limerick to name a few.
As a result of the expansion, there was an increasing need for the integration of services within the hospital instead of keeping each service singular. This would enable documents and information to be shared between specialties and departments.
As a result, Cellma 1 was upgraded to Cellma 2. This meant linking rheumatology orthopedics and elderly care. The sharing of information between services would provide insight into such diseases like diabetes, heart failure and different aspects of elderly care.
